
The Department of Economics and Statistics (DEPS) is pleased to announce that the Second Hahn Lecture, in memory of Prof. Frank Hahn (1925-2013), was delivered on October 9, 2015, by Professor Eric Maskin, Nobel Laureate in Economics 2007.
Professor Frank Hahn (Birmingham, Cambridge, London School of Economics, Siena), one of the leading theoretical economists of recent decades and a world-class scholar, was also a mentor to many of today's most prominent economists. Among them is Professor Eric Maskin, who, after obtaining his PhD from Harvard University, spent an extended period at the University of Cambridge (UK), collaborating with the research group founded and led by Professor Hahn, known as the "Quakers." Professor Eric Maskin was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics for his contributions to Mechanism Design Theory. His lecture in memory of Professor Frank Hahn will address the issues of inequality and poverty in the global economy.
