Professor Hamid Sabourian is internationally recognized as one of the leading economic theorists of his generation. He is a Fellow of King’s College, Cambridge, and a Fellow of the British Academy. Professor Sabourian has held prestigious academic positions, including Director of the Keynes Fund at the University of Cambridge from 2014 to 2019, and Chair of the Economics Department at Cambridge during two separate terms, from 2007 to 2011 and 2018 to 2019. He has also been a Visiting Professor at several prominent international universities. With an extensive publication record in top economic journals, Professor Sabourian has made significant contributions to the field of economic theory. Early in his career, he was part of the "Quakers," a distinguished group of talented young economists led by Frank Hahn at Cambridge, who later became some of the most influential scholars in the UK and globally.

Professor Frank Hahn (Birmingham, London School of Economics, Cambridge, Siena) is recognized worldwide as one of the most prominent economic theorists of the 20th century. He made foundational contributions to the theory of economic equilibrium and the role of money in the economy. Professor Hahn also gained attention for promoting a letter, signed by over 300 economists, which was critical of Margaret Thatcher’s economic policies. Throughout his career, he mentored numerous economists who have since become leading academics in the field. Professor Hahn worked closely with some of the most influential figures in economics and, during his time at the University of Siena, made significant contributions to the PhD program in Economics and the scientific activities of the Department of Economics.
